UMPQUA HOT SPRINGS, OREGON

Umpqua Hot Springs is located about 60 miles east of Roseberg
(East of Diamond Lake), Oregon.
The springs were carved by volunteers out of the bare cliff side above the North Umpqua
River. There is an
outhouse at the springs and a regular restroom back at the parking lot.
Naturally hot spring water (106 to 108 degrees) is piped to the pool via a
hose. The pool is very popular, so be prepared to wait for a while for
space to get in.
DIRECTIONS: Drive east, from Rosenburg, on SR 138 for about
60 miles to Toketee Rigdon Road
(FS 34) and then north for about 2.25 miles to Thorn Prairie Road (FS 3401). Turn
right and go about 2 miles to the parking area. Walk across the bridge,
bearing right onto the North Umpqua Trail. After about a quarter mile,
you should emerge from the woods and see the three-sided shelter shown in the
photos.

This one is near Roseberg (East of Diamond Lake), ask the ranger or a
local. It was great. We loved it and will visit it again. Warning: It fills
up fast, get there on a rainy weekday to be alone
